FUT Esports take down NRG and G2 in London and face Vitality in the lower bracket round of 16

FUT Esports arrived at VCT Masters London as EMEA’s third seed, with four players making their international tournament debut. They left with two consecutive upsets behind them – and a decisive clash against Team Vitality ahead. A win means they continue. A loss ends the campaign.

The climb through the lower bracket

The Turkish team’s script in London wasn’t built on paper. NRG, the reigning world champions, fell first. Then came G2 Esports – swept 2-0, with Ascent ending 13-6. It wasn’t an accident. It was a system working at a high tempo: xeus closed the series against G2 as MVP with 223 ACS, and the final rounds of a 15-13 Lotus showed the team knows how to close under pressure.

The only stumble was against EDG, across three maps. The Haven 13-4 on map one showed FUT in total control – measured tempo, disciplined economy and clean round answers. But when the Chinese side adjusted between maps and ZmjjKK raised his individual level, the structures stopped converting. It’s exactly that pattern of adaptation that Jamppi will try to exploit.

Vitality: favorites, but not untouchable

Team Vitality dropped into the lower bracket after conceding 1-2 to Paper Rex in the upper bracket semifinal. Breeze was a collapse – 3-13, with no answer to the tempo the Asians imposed from the very first rounds. Split (13-6) showed the team works when the map favors its structure. But the Fracture 6-13 that closed the series was a sign: the same Fracture that Vitality beat FUT on in the Swiss stage 13-10 no longer looks like a solid pick after what PRX did to it.

Derke and Chronicle form one of the most experienced duelist-sentinel pairings in EMEA history. Jamppi, in the IGL role, has been the team’s tactical edge throughout the tournament – his mid-round corrections separated Vitality from the teams that pressured them mechanically on individual maps. PROFEK climbed quickly from BBL Esports. Sayonara, 18, looked steadier in the playoff stage than the Swiss Stage had suggested.

What the prior data says

The two teams have already met twice before this match: at EMEA Stage 1 and in the Swiss stage of this very Masters. The pattern repeats. Haven goes to FUT – on both occasions by a margin of at least nine rounds. Outside of Haven, FUT haven’t won a single map against Vitality. In the Swiss stage, it was Haven 13-4 for the Turks, Pearl 11-13 and Fracture 10-13 for the French. The two non-Haven maps were competitive, but FUT didn’t convert the rounds they needed to close.

The central question is simple: has coach Vlad found a second map where the system works? Jamppi knows sociablEE’s lurk patterns, xeus’s timings on Haven and the economy-control logic the team uses to limit Derke’s individual impact. Nothing is a surprise. What FUT need is something Vitality haven’t seen yet.
