Inter Milan thrash Roma 5-2 and stay clear at the top of Serie A

A night of a rout. In the early hours of Monday, Inter Milan destroyed Roma at the Giuseppe Meazza and stretched their lead at the top of the Italian Championship even further. There were five goals, including a brace from Lautaro Martínez and a collective display to make any rival still thinking about the title green with envy.

Dominance beyond question

The match was decided within the first 45 minutes. Marcus Thuram burst down the right in the very first minute and set up Lautaro Martínez to open the scoring. Roma responded and drew level in the 40th minute, with Gianluca Mancini heading home. But the visitors’ relief lasted exactly two minutes: Hakan Çalhanoğlu struck from long range with surgical precision and put Internazionale back in front before the halftime whistle.

In the second half, the Milan side simply swallowed up the team from the capital. Lautaro completed his brace in the 52nd minute. Three minutes later, Thuram found the net and made it four, and Inter reached the fifth with a finish from inside the box. Roma did pull one back as a consolation through Lorenzo Pellegrini, but the final score of 5-2 already reflected exactly the gulf between the two teams at this moment.

With the result, Internazionale reached 72 points and continue to breathe comfortably at the top of the table. Roma, on 54, remain in sixth place – far too distant for any conversation about the scudetto.

Zidane agrees to take over the French national team after the 2026 World Cup

Away from the touchline for four years since leaving Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane finally has a defined destination. According to confirmed reports, the French coach has closed a preliminary agreement to take charge of the France national team after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.

The process was a long one. Zidane turned down financially aggressive offers from Al-Hilal, drew interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, but always made the hierarchy of his priorities clear: the blue shirt of the Équipe Tricolore or, eventually, a return to the Santiago Bernabéu. France, by all indications, spoke louder.

The arrival of the 1998 World Cup idol marks a new era for French football, which is looking to rebuild the national team after below-expectation results in recent tournaments.

Lý Hoàng Nam wins the PPA Asia – Hanoi Cup 2026 at home

On Saturday night, Lý Hoàng Nam wrote a special chapter in his pickleball career. In the final of the PPA Asia – Hanoi Cup 2026, held in Hanoi, the Vietnamese athlete dispatched Trương Vinh Hiển with authority: 11-5 and 11-6, in two sets with no room for the opponent to react.

It is the first time Hoàng Nam has reached the top of the podium at home. Previously, his maiden title on the Asian circuit had come at the Hangzhou Open 2025, when he beat Norway’s Staksrud in the grand final. Victory in front of his own fans has a different flavor – and cements his name among the best on the continent in the sport.
