Openda close to leaving Juventus for Lyon
The European market never stops, and while clubs are still organising their pre-season camps, the phone calls between executives are already shaping much of the next window. Today it is Napoli’s turn to take the field in a friendly, but the real game keeps happening behind the scenes, with names like Openda, Leao and Tresoldi driving parallel negotiations.
Openda on his way, Leao stuck on price
After a season well below expectations at Juventus, Lorenzo Openda is heading for the Italy exit. The Belgian striker has Lyon leading the race, ahead of Lens according to the Italian press. What is holding up the departure for now is a direct request from Spalletti: keep the player until Saturday’s friendly, since Milik is the only centre-forward available in the squad at this moment. Once that is resolved, the path is clear for the deal to close.
Rafael Leao’s future at Milan, meanwhile, remains undefined. The rossoneri club keeps its valuation around 50 to 60 million euros, a figure that has kept away both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, both interested in the Portuguese. For now, only initial enquiries have arrived from the Premier League, nothing concrete. Leao, in any case, should continue normally with the squad on Milan’s summer tour.
Inter reinforce the base, Napoli assess Lindstrom
Inter continue investing in the Under-23 project and completed the signing of Alessandro Milani, a defender born in 2005 who arrives permanently from Lazio on a three-year contract. The youngster, who was on loan at Avellino, had his exit negotiated with a resale percentage guaranteed to the biancoceleste club.
At Napoli, Jesper Lindstrom’s stay is being discussed internally again. The Dane seemed destined to leave the club, but Massimiliano Allegri is considering using him as a link midfielder, which could change the plans. The final decision should only come after the camp in Castel di Sangro. Meanwhile, the azzurri are accelerating other departures: Alessio Zerbin is close to returning permanently to Frosinone, and Luca Ambrosino is heading to Modena on loan.
Tresoldi, in turn, has caught Gasperini’s eye. The striker is said to have already given the green light to the project and agreed financial terms with the giallorossi club. Before formalising the offer, valued at around 25 million euros by the Belgians, Roma need to resolve the departure of Artem Dovbyk, who interests Fiorentina, as well as drawing attention from Borussia Dortmund and Atlético Madrid.
Lazio, for their part, have not yet settled on their new centre-forward. Kennedy’s name has cooled due to a lack of progress in talks with Fluminense, while Piccoli and Pinamonti remain as alternatives. Gattuso’s preference, however, would fall on Santiago Gimenez of Milan. The operation runs into the high cost, but a possible loan would gain strength if Milan advance in signing Gonçalo Ramos.
Finally, Fiorentina are monitoring Franco Mastantuono, a young Argentine born in 2007 from Real Madrid, with a first enquiry already made to gauge the feasibility of a loan that would guarantee the boy minutes.
