FURIA sweep Aurora 2-0 and advance to the grand final of IEM Cologne Major 2026

FURIA are in the final. The Brazilian team dispatched Aurora without hesitation in the semi-finals of IEM Cologne Major 2026, winning both maps played and securing a place in the tournament decider. It was a solid, controlled display, with no unnecessary scares.
Dust2: balance at the start, dominance at the end
The first map was Aurora’s pick: Dust2. The opening of the clash promised an even duel – the opposing team converted five rounds on the CT side and kept the score competitive until half-time. But FURIA adjusted their defence in the second half and closed out the map 13-9, smothering any attempt at a comeback.
The Brazilian attacking pattern grew progressively. Each round conceded early seemed to feed the team’s concentration rather than shake it.
Nuke: Aurora started well. Then, silence
The second map told a different story – and a more brutal one. Aurora burst out 4-1, imposing their rhythm and putting FURIA under early pressure. From the sixth round, the story changed for good. The Brazilians clicked into gear, locked down the opposing team and dismantled any remnant of resistance. The final score was 13-4. No appeal.
It is the kind of performance that makes noise in Cologne. Closing out Nuke with that margin in a Major semi-final is not routine for any team in the world.
yuurih was the best on the server
The MVP of the series was yuurih, who finished the clash with an ADR of 90.7 and a rating of 1.62. Numbers that speak for themselves: the player dominated on both fronts, was decisive in the tight rounds of Dust2 and lethal in the Nuke turnaround. For an event of this magnitude, that kind of performance is usually what separates semi-finalists from champions.
What comes next
Aurora end their IEM Cologne Major 2026 campaign in third or fourth place and US$80,000 in prize money – an honest result for the Turkish side, who reached the final four of a Major.
FURIA now wait. The opponent in the grand final comes from the clash between Team Falcons and Team Spirit. On one side, the rising Saudi team. On the other, the Russians, always dangerous in the closing stretch of big tournaments. Either of the two will be a test worthy of what the Brazilian team produced today.
For Brazilian CS2, reaching the Major final in Cologne is no small thing. FURIA now play for the title.
