PEB 2026 prepares 28 categories for its 10th anniversary

PEB 2026 prepares 28 categories for its 10th anniversary

The Premio eSports Brasil is treating 2026 as a landmark. In the edition celebrating a decade of history, the awards confirmed a Super Jury featuring heavyweight names from the competitive scene and set out a voting structure that mixes specialists and the public ahead of the ceremony on 17 December at the Memorial da America Latina in Sao Paulo.

A commemorative edition with more layers

This is not just a birthday party. The PEB reaches its 10th year trying to consolidate something the Brazilian games market has been chasing for a long time: broader recognition for different disciplines, communities and professional profiles. With that in mind, the organisers assembled a jury of journalists, play-by-play commentators, analysts, streamers, creators and ecosystem specialists, plus representatives of the inclusive scene.

The announced names include Marcatto, Nessyteras, Julia Garcia, RauleS, AMD, KOF da Depressao, Speed, CarolTheQueen, DennerDON, Macaw, KennoSV, Pinecio, Vascurado, Melany, Wendell Lira, Camilota XP, BrunoClash, Takeshi, Maria Bonino, Spacca, Tonello, Nyang, Tayhuhu, Beatriste, Afrodite Caster, Bota TCG and A Kakarota. The idea is simple on paper and complex in practice: to shrink the bubbles. And that matters.

How the voting will work

There will be 28 categories in total, split between technical, semi-popular and popular awards. In the technical ones, the Super Jury decides everything, including prizes such as Best Athlete – Inclusive Scene, eSports Athlete of the Year and Best Coach. It is the most specialised slice of the night.

In the semi-popular categories, the process is layered. First the specialists help define the nominees; then the public joins the contest; finally the technical jurors have the last word. This is where the Brazilian circuit’s central categories sit, such as best athletes in Counter-Strike, Fortnite, Free Fire, League of Legends, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege, fighting games and mobile games, plus breakthrough player, caster, analyst, line-up and organisation.

The popular awards are left entirely in the community’s hands: Fans’ Favourite, Best Streamer, Best Creator – Short Form and Creator – Long Form. Open voting runs from 5 to 28 August on the awards’ official website. Short. And decisive.

What the PEB is trying to say about the market

Across ten years, the Premio eSports Brasil has tracked the professionalisation of the sector in the country, from the most scattered phase of championships to the point where organisations, leagues, creators and brands began competing for attention on the same stage. The new visual identity presented for 2026 speaks to that: less focus on a single niche and more emphasis on convergence between communities.

In market terms, the anniversary edition also works as a thermometer. If the split between technical and popular voting works, the PEB reinforces its position as the main prestige showcase for esports in Brazil. If it fails, the old debate returns about representation, fan influence and the real weight of curation. For now, the awards have chosen the more ambitious path. And it makes sense.
