Real Madrid want Enzo Fernández for over 100 million after two years without trophies

Real Madrid are living through a moment of forced reinvention. Two consecutive seasons without winning anything – while Barcelona piled up trophies – have put the club in emergency mode. José Mourinho’s arrival on the bench is already official, and the transfer market has become an absolute priority. The 2026 European summer window promises to be one of the busiest in the merengue club’s recent history.
Enzo Fernández in their sights: offer above 100 million ready
The hottest name right now is that of the Argentine Enzo Fernández. The Chelsea midfielder, a world champion with Argentina in 2022, is the main target for the midfield. There is a structured proposal ready to be presented, with figures exceeding 100 million euros and a contract until 2032. To get an idea of the scale of the operation: it would be one of the biggest investments in the club’s history for a single midfield player.
Chelsea paid around 121 million euros for Enzo in January 2023 – the Premier League record at the time. Now, less than three years later, Madrid are willing to knock on Stamford Bridge’s door with a hefty cheque.
Open attack: Vlahovic or Gyökeres
Up front, the picture is not yet defined. Julián Álvarez will not come – the negotiation has cooled for good. To fill that gap, two names emerge as real alternatives: Dušan Vlahović, the Serbian centre-forward from Juventus, and Viktor Gyökeres, the Swede who tore up the Eredivisie with Sporting Lisbon before becoming one of the most coveted strikers in Europe. They are different profiles, but both solve the goalscoring problem Madrid have carried for seasons.
Bouaddi costs dearly, Nico Paz leaves and Lazio want Asencio
The young Moroccan Ayyoub Bouaddi, one of African football’s great talents at present, is of interest to the Spanish club – but Lille have set the price at 80 million euros and made clear they are in no hurry. The midfielder’s contract runs until 2028, and PSG and Arsenal are also in the running. The battle will be expensive.
On the other hand, Nico Paz will not return to Madrid. The Argentine talent will stay at Como 1907, the Italian club that sealed a permanent move for 60 million euros. It was an expected transfer, but it is now practically done.
And on the way out, Raúl Asencio could go to Italy. Lazio are monitoring the Spanish defender to fill the void left by Alessio Romagnoli. At Valdebebas they are assessing the situation with caution, but do not rule out a concrete offer from the Romans.
Mourinho has a squad to build. The money appears to be available. What’s left is to close the right targets before the competition gets there first.
